R.A.R. Clouston
R.A.R. Clouston is a retired corporate executive whose career as a business professional has included roles as the president and CEO of several international consumer products companies. He has also been a guest lecturer at a number of graduate business schools in the United States and Canada; however, his passion has always been writing. Cry Savage Tears is his fifth novel. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from McGill University and an MBA from the Ivey Business School at Western University. He has been a member of the Canadian Ski Instructors’ Alliance for over fifty years and also holds a black belt in Tae Kwon Do.
From his early days as an MBA student, to his more recent roles as a senior corporate executive, Mr. Clouston’s professional life has involved extensive business writing, media interviews, guest lectures at business schools, and public speaking. Meanwhile, in his “spare” time, he has written and self-published five novels. In 2004, he published a two-volume, epic novel titled, Where Freedom Reigns. It is a work of fiction about a second American civil war, involving devastating tank battles on the high plains of Colorado. A year later, the book was praised by the then commanding officer of the United States Army’s 1st Cavalry Division in Iraq who asked for copies to be sent to Baghdad for his staff. More recently, Mr. Clouston has released a new and revised, single volume edition of Where Freedom Reigns as an eBook. Mr. Clouston’s second novel, The Tempest’s Roar, published in 2009, is a work of speculative fiction about the odyssey of a white dolphin named Apollo whose destiny is to save whalekind from man’s destruction of the oceans. The book has received wide acclaim among leading figures in ocean conservation. His next two novels, The Covenant Within, and No Greater Evil, both of which were released in 2012, are thrillers that take the reader behind the veil of conscious thought where truth and reason exist, into a dark world where the line between imagination and insanity is ephemeral. His most recent work, Cry Savage Tears, released in June 2020, blends romance with suspense as a young woman and a county sheriff are thrown together in a terrifying struggle to recapture several Siberian tigers―the largest and most ferocious land predators―that have escaped into the rugged wilderness of northwestern Montana. A fascinating subtext to the story is the affection the woman feels for the tigers and they for her.
Mr. Clouston is married with four children and five grandchildren. His wife, with whom he has been married fifty years, is President and CEO of indieBRAG, LLC a web-based company whose mission is to recognize excellence on the part of self-published or “indie” authors of both print and digital books.
